How it works

If you must move dozens of IBANs from a supplier PDF, a payroll list or a photo of a slip, copying by hand invites mistakes. This page finds the IBANs, tidies the spaces, applies the mod-97 check and tells you which are valid. Those that fail are flagged, because it is almost always OCR that swapped a 0 for an O or a 5 for an S.

  1. Drop the PDF or photo, or paste the text.
  2. Read the table with each IBAN and its check.
  3. Copy the table into Excel or download the CSV.

Limits, stated plainly

A valid IBAN does not prove the account exists or whose it is: only that the check digits add up.

Frequently asked questions

Which countries are validated?

The mod-97 check works for any IBAN. The length is checked for Portugal and the most common countries (Spain, France, Germany, UK, Brazil and others).

Is the IBAN stored anywhere?

No. There is no account, no database and no file upload. Close the tab and the result is gone.
